Believe it or not, the meaning of barbecue is, to slow cook, if you are like the average person who tries to barbecue meat over hot coals the usual outcome (after a few beers) is burnt meat on the outside and raw in the middle, but the fact is to barbecue is to slow cook the meat at low temperatures for a sustained period over charcoal or wood.

In fact the barbecue probably relates to way back to the stone age when man had no fancy equipment to cook with, just a stone, a man made fire and a freshly killed animal.

Australians are known for their beer and barbecues, but they do have the better weather over their. It soon caught on in England and over the last 15 years has become a much more popular way of cooking in the summer, and a way to invite guests round without them stepping foot in the home. The summer months in England are often filled with the smell of barbecues and delicious smelling food. Some people choose to barbecue on the more traditional barbecue, this being the kind where it is necessary to dowse the coals in lighter fluid in order to get the coals to a heat which is reasonable to cook on. Other people cheat and use the more convenient method of the gas barbecue or gasgrill (Coobinox) .

Some people choose to cook burgers and sausage, where others choose to cook gourmet food such as salmon, lobster, marinated chicken on their gas BBQ (BBQ Gasgrill). Whatever the occasion a barbecue is a great way of cooking food and indulge in the outdoors.
